Michele Sala was born in Busto Arsizio (Varese), Italy, in 1975.

He received the MS degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Chicago, Illinois, USA, and Dr. Eng. degree in Electronics from the Politecnico di Torino, Torino, Italy, in 1999.

He joined STMicroelectronics srl, Cornaredo, Italy, in 2000, where he has been engaged in the design and development of hardware and software digital radio systems.

He has also contributed to technical papers on the study of electromagnetic fields generated by the lightning discharge. He is currently with the Car radio Multimedia, STMicroelectronics srl, where he is an Advanced Tuner System Architect.
